Our client in Lenni PA is seeking a qualified candidate to join their growing team as an Machinist.
Guarantee the maintenance of machine shop equipment and tooling to ensure the smooth operation of all productions machines.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Mechanical Maintain and operate all machine shop equipment. Designate materials and technical information used for all work in the machine shop. Maintain accurate records and drawings. Purchase all supplies for the machine shop. Obtain quotes for special projects.
Tooling Schedule all tooling and equipment repairs in the shop. Work with manufacturing personnel on die design, engineering changes, tooling repairs, and drawings of new tooling. Work with Parts Room Operator on tooling repairs. Inspect tooling and parts machined in-house and by outside fabricators. Work with outside fabricators for tooling and equipment.
Quality Maintain quality level on all machine equipment/maintenance environment. Maintain ISO work instructions.
Safety Report near misses/accidents to the Manager or Supervisor. Maintain safe and clean working environment throughout the Maintenance facility.
Organizational activities: Report daily, weekly, activity and problems to the Manager. Handle and be responsible of special projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Ensure as much as possible his/her work environment is sorted, standardized, sustained, shines and is in order (with a view to introduce 5S methods) prior to shift change, and guarantee a safe maintenance environment.
Communication activities: Ensure good dialogue within the team. Provide feedback to the Manager as needed and encourage feedback from the team to him. Interface with other departments.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Drivers License First Class Machinist
Skills and Competencies
Technical skills: Ability to read mechanical drawings. Strong working knowledge of Hydraulics and Steam systems, with PLCs. Basic knowledge and awareness of electrical control and power distribution plumbing, HVAC. Ability to use hand and power tools. Mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to follow detailed instructions. Ability to stand for long hours. Ability to solve problems through step by step thinking by looking beyond the obvious solution to a problem and endeavor to find the best solution.
Basic computer skills: With internal software. With Microsoft pack: Word, Excel. Reading, analyzing and interpreting common industrial, manufacturing and technical procedures. Understanding of manufacturing safety regulations and practices.
Organizational skills: Ability to prepare and organize daily tasks. Ability to set up horizontal and vertical relationships in your team building. Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain a clean and tidy work environment (5S Methods). Ability to respect all safety points in order to ensure your own and your colleagues safety.
Communication skills: Ability to communicate well with people at different levels; frequently sharing information with others while listening to and understanding their points of view. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
